“My motivation in pursuing my career here at ACS VA stems from my own family, especially my three lovely sons aged 3, 4, and 8 years old. Their laughter, smiles, happiness, and future serve as constant reminders that keep me going, even during moments of exhaustion, despair, or near-surrender. My uncle, Ruben, who is my mother’s brother, adopted me when she passed away. He holds a special place in my heart. He treated me as if his own daughter, and his advice and kindness have left lasting marks on me. He is a rare uncle, along with his smart and humble daughter.
When I was 7 years old, my parents have unfortunately parted ways, leaving my two older sisters with my father in Manila. We resided there for nearly a decade. My father reunited with my mother in a heartbreaking circumstance; she was already dead. In grade school, I began assisting my hardworking mother in her multitasking job at a private school. Her resilience and inspiration fueled me as we tackled various responsibilities together, from office duties to cleaning and beyond.
The regrets and echoes of the past keep me motivated to strive, do more, and dream bigger. However, I recognize that dwelling on the past only hinders my progress. I firmly believe in the notion that everything happens for a reason. This motivates me to uplift myself and move forward with renewed strength and faith.
Growing up in a poor family wasn’t easy, but despite it all, I am grateful because it taught me to appreciate every little and big thing in life. I dream of a bright future for my children. It would break my heart if I couldn’t provide even a pencil for them. Therefore, I must become stronger and more motivated every day.
